THE COURTNEY CHRISTOPHERSON GLAMOUR GROUP
EVENT DAY BEAUTY PREPARATION GUIDE
LOCATION & SETUP SPACE
We recommend setting up in a clean, spacious, climate-controlled indoor area with natural light.
Each artist requires a clear counter or tabletop space near a working electrical outlet:
Hairstylist: Approximately two feet of clear counter or tabletop width.
Makeup Artist: Approximately two to four feet of clear counter or tabletop width, preferably near a window.
Hairstylists require a desk- or dining-height chair. Makeup artists will provide their own chairs.
Please ensure the designated setup area is completely cleared before our team arrives. Keep food and beverages away from the artists’ tools and workstations, and limit unnecessary traffic around the setup area.
Please avoid smoking or steaming clothing near the artists’ workstations.
Clients are responsible for safeguarding their belongings and are encouraged to keep personal items secure during services.
We do not set up or perform services in bathrooms or bedrooms in private residences.
Equipment must be set up on the first floor unless an elevator is available.
If you have concerns about the available space, please contact us in advance.
ACCESS & ARRIVAL
Please provide all necessary parking instructions, gate codes, room numbers, valet information, and other
access details before the event. Any delays caused by parking, security, gate access, elevators, or an
unavailable setup area may affect the service schedule.
We recommend designating one person to answer questions and help keep the party on schedule.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR SERVICES
Clothing
Wear a loose, zippered, button-up, or similarly easy-to-remove shirt to avoid disturbing your finished hair and makeup.
Face & Skincare
Please arrive for your makeup application with a clean, dry face and no makeup or skincare products applied.
Our makeup artists will prepare your skin using professional skincare products selected for your makeup application.
Anyone who wears contact lenses should insert them before their makeup application begins.
We recommend gently exfoliating two to three days before the event rather than the night before.
During the week leading up to the event, avoid trying new products or undergoing strong facial treatments, including chemical peels, microdermabrasion, laser treatments, aggressive exfoliation, or dermaplaning.
Be cautious with retinol, prescription retinoids, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, other exfoliating acids, and benzoyl peroxide, as these products may cause dryness, peeling, irritation, or increased sensitivity.
Follow the instructions of your dermatologist or prescribing provider before stopping any prescribed skincare medication.
If you have any questions about preparing your skin, please contact our office.
Hair
Please arrive with clean, completely dry hair unless a professional blow-dry service has been
scheduled with our team.
Blow-dry services must be requested in advance so we can confirm availability and allow enough
time in the schedule.
Hair should be washed the night before or the day of the appointment.
Curly, wavy, or frizz-prone hair should be completely blown out and smoothed before the scheduled
service unless a blow-dry has been booked.
Please avoid applying heavy oils, hair masks, or excessive styling products after washing.
Hair trims and color services should be completed one to two weeks before the event.
Bring any veil, hair accessories, or extensions you plan to wear.
Please notify our office in advance if anyone receiving services will be wearing hair extensions.
VEILS & HAIR ACCESSORIES
Please have your veil and hair accessories removed from their packaging and ready for the hairstylist.
If the veil will be placed after the hairstylist leaves, we recommend designating someone to assist. Your
hairstylist can demonstrate how to properly position and secure it.
WAXING & THREADING
If you regularly wax or thread, schedule your appointment three to five days before the event.
If this is your first time waxing, you have sensitive skin, or you are visiting a new provider, schedule it five to seven days beforehand to allow additional time for any redness or irritation to subside.
Tell your waxing or threading provider about all skincare products and medications you use, especially retinol, prescription retinoids, exfoliating acids, acne treatments, or isotretinoin. These products can make the skin more delicate and increase the risk of skin lifting or injury.
Please contact our office if you need a waxing or threading recommendation.
SPRAY TANS
Spray tans should be completed two days before the event.
We work with an excellent airbrush spray tan artist who is available for on-location appointments. Please contact our office to inquire about availability.
If you choose a spray tan artist outside of our company, we recommend avoiding spray tanning your face, as we can match your complexion to your body. If facial tanning is necessary, please request only a light application.
SKIN & EYE CONDITIONS
Please notify our office in advance of any skin condition, allergy, sensitivity, recent facial procedure, open sore, rash, sunburn, cold sore, stye, eye irritation, or suspected pink eye affecting anyone receiving services. For sanitation and safety, makeup cannot be applied over an active contagious infection, including pink eye. Depending on the condition, services may need to be modified, postponed, or declined.
INSPIRATION PHOTOS
We recommend that everyone receiving hair or makeup services select an inspiration photo for their desired look before the event.
Inspiration photos may be found online or by viewing examples of our work:

Please keep in mind that results may vary based on each person’s hair length, texture, density, skin type, features, and starting condition.
PUNCTUALITY & SCHEDULE CHANGES
Please ensure everyone receiving services is present and ready at their scheduled time. Timelines are essential for keeping the entire party on schedule. Additional services or schedule changes must be approved in advance and are subject to artist availability.
PET POLICY
For the safety and comfort of our team, all dogs over 20 pounds must be secured in a separate room or crate during hair and makeup services.
We recommend keeping all pets away from the work area. Any pet that interferes with the appointment must be secured away from the artists and their equipment.
