Event Day Set-Up & Preparation Guide

We look forward to being part of your special day. Please review the following guidelines to ensure a smooth, efficient, and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

EVENT DAY SET-UP

Location & Space Requirements
We recommend setting up in a clean, open area with ample natural light. Additional professional lighting will be provided by our team.

Each artist requires counter or tabletop space located near an electrical outlet:
• Hair Stylist: Approximately 2 square feet of workspace
• Makeup Artist: Approximately 2–4 square feet of workspace, preferably near a window

Clearing the Space: Please ensure all designated counters or tables are fully cleared prior to our team’s arrival.

Chairs
• Hair Stylist: Requires a desk- or dining-room-height chair
• Makeup Artist: Will provide their own professional makeup chair

Location Restrictions
Private residences are acceptable when services are set up in a kitchen, living room, or dining room with adequate space. Services are not performed in bathrooms or bedrooms within private residences.

Hotel rooms, designated hotel prep spaces, and venue prep areas located within or adjacent to hotels are acceptable and commonly used.

If you have any concerns regarding space, layout, or location suitability, please contact our office in advance to discuss accommodations.

Accessibility & Equipment
Our team travels with substantial and heavy professional equipment. If elevators are not available, services should be set up on the first floor whenever possible, particularly for makeup services. If stairs must be used, please notify our office in advance so appropriate arrangements can be made.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR SERVICES

Clothing
Please wear a loose-fitting, zippered, or button-up top to avoid disrupting hair and makeup when dressing.

Face & Skin
Arrive with a clean, makeup-free face. Exfoliate the night before for optimal skin texture.

Hair Preparation
Hair must be clean and completely dry prior to services. If prone to frizz, we recommend blow-drying and/or straightening the night before.

Blow-drying services must be scheduled at least 72 hours in advance.

Hair trims and color services should be completed 1–2 weeks prior to the event.

Please bring any hair accessories or extensions purchased during your trial or from another source. Notify Courtney Christopherson Hamby in advance if anyone in your party will require hair extensions.

Grooming Services
Waxing or threading must be completed 2–3 days prior to the event.

Spray Tans
Spray tans should be completed 2 days before the event. We recommend avoiding spray tanning the face; however, our artists can match the face to the body if needed. If facial tanning is necessary, please opt for a very light application.

Punctuality
Timeliness is essential to maintaining the schedule. Please ensure all members of your party arrive on time for their assigned services.

PET POLICY

For the safety and comfort of our team, all dogs over 20 pounds must be secured in a separate room or crate during hair and makeup services. While we strongly recommend keeping all pets away from the work area, it is the client’s responsibility to ensure pets do not interfere with the appointment.
